I bought a 1995 Saab 900 SE Convertible with 109,000 miles. Have a check engine and srs light. Codes came back and were cleared, knock sensor, mass airflow sensor, p0326 p0331/2 p0102, p0113 should I be worried? Will this effect my emissions? The exhaust sounds loud.

This will effect your emissions because you have a check engine light on it will not pass. It sounds like you have a catalytic converter that has failed and failing apart causing the exhaust system to plug which will give you a code for the MAF.

Here is a guide to help you confirm the problem.

Please let us know what happens so it will help others.

Cheers, Ken

Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Saab 900 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 245000 miles

When the Check Engine light comes on, the car will erratically rev itself whether I'm idling or even moving. I can even have my foot off the accelerator and the car will continue to speed up. As I idle at lights, the RPM needle will dance around anywhere from a sputter to 4k. When I try to accelerate, it will feel like the engine is being choked and I have to feather the clutch properly or it will stall. Sometimes, it does stall and takes a few minutes to get it going again. I can't figure out what the source of this is because when the Check Engine light isn't on, it will run perfectly fine. Until the dreaded light comes on again.

Hi there,

You can still run a scan as the fault code will be held in the memory until deleted.

MY check engine light just went on and my manual says it is probably an ignition, fuel or emissions problem. I am embarassed to admit I have been driving it lately (past two months)on 1/4 tank (during rainy and cold weather) although I do use 93 oct usually never 87. Could that be the problem? Would dry gas help or is it too late? I really don't drive more that 30 miles per week.

Engine Performance problem
1997 Saab 900 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 128000 miles

Just bought the car yerterday. It ran perfect.

Started it up today after sitting all night and the check engine & check gear box light came on and stayed on. I tried shutting off and restarting a few times and the lights stay on.
Question - Any idea what the problem can be and how do I find out?
Next question - is it possible for someone to reset the code where it won't show up for a day or so. This was a private sale and I'm thinking I got fooled into this one.

Sunday they didn't. Aslo is it normal for brake lights to come on, step on brakes and they go off? Thanks for the help

U may have a crank position sensor problem, these older saabs have a few issues with the wiring harness junction crimp connection from main ecm, best to take car to a certified saab tech to have repairs done, good luck.
