That means you have a problem. It could be just about anything. From a bad gas cap causing an EVAP code to a faulty sensor or much more. The way to repair it so the light goes off is to decide if you want to fix it yourself or take it to a shop and have them repair it.
There is one thing you may be able to do for free that might at least give you information to decide which way you wish to go. Take it to an auto parts store that will scan it for codes for free. There are many that will. Then post back in this thread with the code(s) that you get and we can give you more information to base the repair decision on.
