My car began to make a light banging noise, and then when I accelerated it got louder, the engine light turned on. I checked the oil and it is not super low but just a little low of the normal range. Any ideas?

Good afternoon.

Do you mean the red engine light or the yellow check engine light?

The noise sounds like internal engine noise. I would have someone listen to see if if it is a major engine issue.

Can you take a video with sounds and post it so I can hear the noise?
