Engine light and codes u112b, u112bpd, u0100 and u1101

Hi,

The codes you indicated are:

U112B No message from instrument cluster

U1101 Component protection

U1100 - Invalid Or Missing Data For Primary Id

I need you to recheck the U112BPD.

Based on these codes, I would think there is a break down in what is called the CAN bus system. CAN stands for computer area network. The modules in the vehicle are all connected and speak to each other via this system. For the code U1100 to be set, one of the modules is not communicating (hence, the missing data for primary ID). In this case, and please understand this is a theory, I suspect the break down is from the instrument cluster itself.

What needs done? What I would suggest is to scan the CAN bus system to see if there is a specific code identifying where the break down in communication exists. Chances are as I said, it's from the cluster.

As far as providing a cost, I feel it could be diagnosed in approx an hour. Specific part costs will be determined by what is found faulty. Keep in mind, it could be a broken or damaged wire.
