Smooth riding, not one mechanical issue. Oil was changed at a place doing a "promotion," engine knock came almost immediately after. Pressured those responsible for oil change for answers just to find that they used recycled oil for my car. It is knocking now. Starts, drives, no engine light, at least not yet ,knock on wood. I am not sure how to fix the issue.high mileage oil was used before this oil change was done. Help! I am a single mom i cannot afford huge repair bills. Where do i begin?

Cut your losses, get suitable high mileage oil and a quality filter, and then get the oil pressure checked, post back when this is done and how it helps the situation.

Just a saying that means do not waste any more money, get the high mileage oil and a quality filter fitted and get the oil pressure tested and report back the readings.
