I have got the same indications and problems as someone described on this website before. I am just copying and paste their question again here to know that my engine seized or what please???

Was driving my 2003 chevy trailblazer on mass pike the other day. Oil pressure dropped to zero, check gauge light came on so we pulled over. Checked oil, was low, added two quarts. Got back in truck, started her up and everything was normal. Began to drive again and a few hundred feet down the road the same thing happened. Got out checked oil, was where it was when we added to it, nothing was leaking. Went to restart the truck and nothing. It would not turn over. No metal in the oil. Truck just wont turn over. Hoping for some help, very limited budget, don't have money to take to a shop. And with family medical conditions I need to get this fixed asap. Any and all help with be greatly appreciated.

Did the oil light come on the 2nd time? If so, it will shut the engine down. Chances are the oil pressure switch is bad.

No light indication was there actually. I checked the oil dipstick afterwards too and it showed full level of engine oil. Mechanic said that he tried to rotate the engine manually and it is seized now and I have to replace with refurbished engine or re-assemble it. I am going for refurbished engine now. what do you say??

Why did the engine seize? Is there a blown head gasket allowing coolant to fill a cylinder with coolant? Was there any knocking or ticking from the engine before it stalled?

No sound I heard actually. The mechanic tried to rotate the engine manually and then said; it is seized. I just stopped the SUV at U-turn and I just felt a little little movement under the engine between the front wheels that like someone pushed the front wheels towards left side; a very little push which normally we feel on bumpy roads. That was the only minor indication I felt. The engine did not turn on after that. I tried to switched on again and again, but there was only tick tick whenever I turned the key, otherwise, no sounds at all.

Ask the mechanic to remove the spark plugs and see if he can then turn the engine. If he can, chances are you just need a head gasket.

Actually there was no engine temperature rise so he said no sign of gasket blow. He simply said it is seized after checking. I do not why mechanics do not diagnose the actual problem and they have only one solution for all engine problems that we have to rebuild it and there is no other way out. I asked almost ten times with different mechanics verbally as my car was not able able to move anywhere, but all of them said only one thing that engine should be opened and rebuilt.

I checked the oil and it was there, but he said might be your oil pump was not working. Anyways I am going through engine change now :-(

If there was no knocking or ticking from the engine, I find it hard to believe it is seized.

I would take it back to the person that did the work. Chances are they did something that caused the AC problem.
