Sounds like rod knock. Oil pressure light flickers randomly. Is there a way I can check the old pressure?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

To check oil pressure, you will need to get or rent a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Basically, you remove the electric pressure sensor and install the mechanical. Once that is done, start the engine and the gauge will do the rest. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you. I would also like to mention that often times the oil pressure sensor will begin to leak. The result is the oil pressure light will come on because the pressure is actually lost due to the leak.

The engine knock is a concern.

I attached a picture for you to see the location of the oil pressure switch.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
