I bought this car preowned, and I think there is some deposits I saw under the oil cap. My mechanic recommended engine flush with my next fuel change. I have read mixed reviews on doing the engine flush. Is it a good idea to do it in my car?

Yep, that is a tough one. I have seen the flush loosen deposits and clog the oil pump pick up. If the engine is really gunked up bad the way, it should be done is to remove the oil pan and valve cover to manually this way the deposits are cleaned throughout the engine. The only way to tell is to remove at least one valve cover. Here are the instructions on how to remove the valve cover and oil pan. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
