I had it scanned at AutoZone and it says catalytic converter. I think the crank shaft sensor is causing the issue. Would replacing fix this problem?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

A plugged catalytic convert can cause the engine to stall. It will also cause a loss of power among other issues. Can you provide the code they found? Also, why do you suspect the cam sensor with the code?

Take a look through this link to see if anything mentioned mirrors what you have experienced.

Here is a link that shows how to test a catalytic converter:

Now, when you first said it stalls while driving, my first thought was fuel related. However, it could also be related to a crankshaft position sensor. Regardless, since you have the catalytic converter code, let me know what it is so I can help better diagnose the problem.

Take care,
Joe
