engine dieing and extremely hard to start

Runs fine when running. Has died going down expressway. Hard to start. There was a vacuum line off of Carb with a canister on it. I hooked it back up started fine ran good but now problem still exist. Eng turns over good starts for a second and dies. Eventually will start and run fine

check to see if your choke is working and it may be time for carb overhaul

It has a manual choke on it I will look at it. It can be running fine and I shut it off it wont start back. When I go to start it it fires rite up but dies immediately. Thank u for your time
