My truck cuts often sometimes when I start the engine but stationery and sometimes when moving and my foot goes off the accelerator to the crutch for change down. At First was told it was air flow sensor. But got a brand new replacement which has not solved problem. Tired cleaning injectors, changing fuel pump, spark plugs, raising idling but no change. Got an electrical mechanic to look at truck yesterday. He so that person who re-wired truck used shortcuts. Power for coil was tapped from airflow sensor. Also when he tired to follow wiring he say that there is a missing connector/relay that was by-passed. This is located inside front cabin below the center console gear lever storage box. There are two male connectors one white and one yellow that had nothing to connect to. What could this missing component/s be? See picture.

Hi,

Can you confirm the model year for me? The B2600 wasn't offered in 2004. They had a B2300, B3000, and B4000. See the attached picture. That is what I see. Let me know.

Yes, I’m kind of confused myself which year it was produced. It was manufactured by Ford Motor South Africa. It is definitely a G6 4 cylinder 2.6 liter engine. Probably it was made in the 1990’s I have attached a few pictures.

This is a really interesting one. According to the VIN, it should be a 1980. However, prior to 1981, there wasn't a standardized sequence to follow as far as VIN. It should be the 10th digit that indicates year. But in this case, it shows an A which is a 1980. Ugh! LOL

If I look at a 1980, it doesn't have the 2.6L. But the 1990 does. Do me a favor. Check in the door frame and on the door for a label indicating manufacture date.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

The door frame label was painted over. However, it seems South Africa continued building these cars over the years even when in other places production was discontinued as shown in the picture.

Hi,

Are you located in South Africa? I have to be honest, I've never see that body style here. As far as the label behind the seat, is there any information on it that may be helpful?

Let me know. Also, if you feel comfortable using the information I have for 1990, I would be happy to help. Let me know.

The big yellow, the big white one and the 4 pin black one. When the electrician opened up the car they found nothing connected so that is what I need to figure out what connects to these as the wires were by-passed.

I was researching on the internet and discovered that in Australia this car is called a Mazda Bravo. This specific make was manufactured between December 1990 and November 2006. I took a screenshot of the description. Make is Mazda; Model is B2600; Sub model is Bravo 4 cyl 2.6L G6:2.6L SOHC 12V EFi RWD and 4WD.

I hate to say this, but I went through all I could on the 1990 Mazda. There is nothing that I can identify to match what you are showing me. I will say that the black one in you hand seems to be for a relay. That looks like the pin layout for a relay.

Okay, since I'm not sure of the year and don't have specifics for the model you have, we are going to try something. I am going to provide four pics below. They are the engine control schematics for a 1990 B2600 4X2. Take a look through them and see if any of the wire colors or pin layouts seem to correlate with what you have.

In the manual, there are two pages of schematics for this. I cut each in half to make them readable when uploaded. I did overlap them so you could follow them easier. The first two pics are from page 1 and the last two are from page 2.

I wish there was an easier way. I hope you understand.

Let me know if anything matches what you are seeing in the vehicle.

You are very welcome, Victor. I just wish I could offer more. I hope you understand.

Regardless, let me know if the schematics seem to correlate with what you see on the vehicle. I'm interested in knowing.

Take care of yourself as well.
