Starts up, idles for a minute then cuts out. Whilst idling, throttle begins to rev then completely cuts out.have changed the fuel filter, EGR valve as car was smoking and have also changed battery to a brand new one.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

When you say it was smoking, where was it from? If it was the exhaust, what color was the smoke? Is the check engine light staying on while the engine runs?

Let me know.

It was black smoke from the exhaust but that has stopped now since I changed the EGR valve. Now it will not rev or run. Any ideas?

Welcome back

Black smoke usually indicates an extremely rich fuel mixture. Often times it is caused by a faulty fuel pressure regulator. Have you checked fuel pressure? You say now it won't start. Does it even indicate cylinder ignition at all? If not, have you checked to see if the plugs are getting spark?
