Welcome to 2CarPros.

First, have you checked to see if the coolant level is full? Do that first. Next, I need to know if this happens at highway speeds or only in stop and go traffic. Additionally, are the cooling fans turning on?

There are several things which can cause the engine to over heat. If the coolant is low, check for leaks:

Start with that and let me know the answers to my questions and if you find low coolant is and issue.

Take care,
Joe
