Car runs hot sometimes, last week it turned off before I could turn it off while it was hot. “Engine coolant over temperature” signal appeared, and I was unable to drive car, it was in limp mode. Replaced coolant sensor and reset code. It started again but ran hot later that day. Pulled over quick, let it cool down then I was fine. Since then, it still runs hot but as long as I stop in time it’s starts again. I am trying to change my thermostat but can’t locate it on this car. That Is my main question. Where is the thermostat?

Hi,

The thermostat housing and thermostat are behind the alternator. If you look at pic 1 below, I have an arrow pointing to where the hose connects to the thermostat housing.

If you look at the remaining pics below, I included directions for removal and replacement of the alternator first, followed by thermostat info.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
