engine overheating/battery drain at same time?

Hi,

When it starts getting hot, do the cooling fans turn on? I'm asking because there may be an issue with one of the cooling fans that is draining the battery.

When the engine is cool, check to make sure the coolant is full. If it is, start the engine and allow it to warm up. If it starts overheating, check to make sure the cooling fans are turning on. The fans are under the hood and the fan shroud is attached to the radiator. See pic below.

Also, and don't laugh, see if the heater works properly and let me know what you find.
