Ticking noise coming from under the hood changed oil and filter after 15 min of idling oil pressure drops to zero and check gages light comes on. Someone one said it was a rod another person said it was head gaskets. All other gases fine no overheating or anything else just things ticking noise that doesn't sound like knocking but ticking any suggestions?

If oil pressure drops it's something in bottom end or a pump problem. The ticking may be due to low oil pressure. If it knocks have it looked at locally for a better diagnosis

What is bottom end? Like I said no knocking just ticking. Could it possibly be the oil sending unit.

Check oil pressure manually with a gauge or have it done. The bottom end of motor usually refers to rod/main bearings. The ticking may be coming from a bad lifter or low oil pressure or a rocker out of adjustment. That is why I said to have it checked locally.
