An intermittent crank signal can cause this code to set as well as a cam sensor (p0340). The other code, P1391, is an intermittent loss of either cam or crank sensor signal. Based on the combination of the two codes, I suspect the crankshaft position sensor is failing or there is a wiring issue at the crank sensor.
Here is a list of possible issues:
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- CMP and CKP out of SYNC
- Checking intermittent CMP signal with LAB
- Wire harness inspection
- Tone wheel/pulse ring inspection

- Camshaft position sensor

There is a possibility that the timing chain has stretched, but in this case, here is what I would do. If you have a live data scanner, see if there is an RPM signal when you crank it. If there isn't, replace the crankshaft position sensor.
As far as the fuel smell in the oil, most likely the engine isn't getting spark which is allowing fuel to bypass the rings and mix with the oil.
See if you have a signal. Or, check to see if there is spark to the plugs. If possible, record the sound of the engine cranking so I can hear it. Also, here are a few links you may find helpful:
