Engine not separating from engine for replacement

Why won’t the transmission come loose off the engine? I’ve took out the torque converter bolts and bell-housing bolts.

Good morning,

A lot of times the dowels that keep the transmission and the engine aligned get crud on them. You may need to use a screwdriver to separate them from the dowels.
