I am currently trying to pass CT emissions (only one monitor is allowed to be "not ready". I have three: catalytic converter, oxygen and fuel system. How do I ensure these monitors are set? What is the procedure? I was told to just drive (which by the way is not very helpful advice.) Thank you in advance!

Make sure you have 1/4 to 3/4 tank of gas.

Park it overnight.
Start and idle the engine with A/C off for fifteen minutes.
Shut off engine for ten minutes.
Start engine and idle for five minutes.
Next, drive at a steady throttle (fifty mph) for twelve minutes.

Repeat steps three and six.

Plenty of time. Even normal use would get the monitors set by then.

Hopefully, I am not kidding when I say I have driven this thing over 1,000 miles so far and the readiness is still not completely set.

Do I repeat the idle for 15 mins and then drive for 12 mins or do I shut it off for 10 then drive 12?

Sorry should say steps three through six. Which monitors are not setting? EVAP is usually a bear to get because the test is very specific. Others should run just about every start.

OK, reading some of the info I have says those can take a while.

This is a LONG post on the issue -

Read through it and you might find something that would help set them faster.
