It starts fine especially when cold runs okay, but as it warms up say about five to ten minutes the check engine light flashes on and I notice a hesitation and or it stalls and then the check engine light will go off for a while and then re-appear. Then the same thing hesitation and or stall back and forth same thing. I have been able to retrieve the codes for the check engine light. And they are 12 and 13. This car has obd1codes. What in your opinion is causing this? I cannot figure it out. The check engine light does goes off while I am driving just to re-appear again after several minutes. I checked the codes, but it does not seem they pertain to how the car is behaving could be wrong. Please help with detailed explanation. Thanks. Steve

Code 12

There is no rpm signal (NE or G) to the computer from the distributor after the engine has been cranked.

Code 13

Basically the same as above, but after the engine has run at 1,000 to 1,500 rpm

Check every wire and connection in the both the “Ignition and Distributor Circuits”. Make sure all wires and connections are in good shape and on tight. Make sure there is no corrosion at any connections, and make sure there are no frayed wires, or exposed copper wires. Ground connections are especially important.

Distributor issues
Coil issues
Pick-up coil issues
Igniter issues

Need to be RULED OUT as well.

More considerations include.

No signal from NE or G to the igniter.

No signal from the igniter to the computer.

Faulty computer.

Open circuit or shorted circuit in igniter to computer signal circuits.

Loss of power or ground to igniter.
