Emergency electric fuel pump

Should my electric fuel pump in tank fail could I put a electric pump in line before my filter? would it pull fuel through failed pump in tank? as emergency fix. My system is low volume throttle body 1994 G-20 3/4 ton van. Thanks

as long as it can give the correct amount of fuel pressure which yours is 9-11 psi at TBI unit.

it should but an in tank pump is probably cheaper I think I gave the wrong pressure as well if you have port fuel it should be 41-47 PSI not the one I gave earlier.

Thanks,you gave same pressure as guy at parts store .It is just 3/4 inch rubber fuel lines plus old style canister filter, with clamps. Electric in line pump would get me home. I used to put them on my cabin cruisers, carburetors.Thanks!
