How can I figure out if the controller I bought is not working or if there is a short somewhere?

I installed an electronic trailer brake controller and had it flashed at the Ram dealership. I now have a message from the truck saying “trailer brake not connected”.

If it did not have this message before the flash, then something went wrong with the programming, and it will need to be done again. Before you go though there are 7 fuses that run the system which we should check. This guide will help, and I have included the trailer package wiring diagrams so you can see which fuses to check.
