Light pops up about 2 miles down the road. I noticed it does so when the temperature gauge hasn't moved. Other days, it start it up and she runs as any other normal day. Its happened about 10-15 times since my first incident. In between those first 1-8 times she started up fine. It was after those clean starts that I made a quick in and out pit-stop, when I started her up it was almost as if it struggled to turn over. Not that it was low on power, but that it just kept cranking as if it wanted to start up. Im no expert and couldnt tell you how many rotations it made before starting up, so ill explain it like this. Picture you starting up your car and you hear that initial crank and start (that's 1) My car did that, plus about 6-8 times then started up. After that my temperature gauge rose and all was good. As of late it does this everytime this warning light pops up. So I pull over, park, turn off, restart and again 6-8 "rotations" before starting and "fixing" my temperature gauge. Now my heater wont blow hot air unless im in motion but even at that if im coasting around or under 30mph my temperature wont rise untill I give her a little umph. Ive looked in forums and think my thermostat needs replaced, but does that have anything to do with the Electronic Throttle Control? Any help would be great.

It never stays on long enough for me to check it. It only happens, other than one other time, in the morning. By the time I get out of work, both the check engine and ETC lights are gone and come back sporadically. Am I able to get a code without the light?

See if it's low on coolant for heat problem. Try resetting security system then have a pro freeze frame it see if he can pull anything up.
