Received message power steering unavailable?

The problem is continuous and not intermittent. Loss of power steering occurred while sitting still.

It would be best if we ran a CAN scan, but it sounds like the steering gear has gone out. There are even three TSB's (technical service bulletins) that are out for the dealer to fix for you by replacing the steering rack for free. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon from about $32.00.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, this truck isn't on the recall list. Will look into purchasing the scan controller.
