The Dash and Entertainment screen. It turns black for about 10 seconds then reboots and says to start engine ,but I'm still driving. Is this a quick fix, or do we dump the car and get a new vehicle?

I would not get another car, not yet anyway. I would do a CAN scan first to see which codes are stored.

CAN SCAN - https://youtu.be/u-4syLc-ifQ

To me it sounds like a bad BCM, here is the location if you want to try a preprogrammed unit from eBay or by searching Google. It would be nice the have the CAN system code that is telling us the BCM is bad but this is the only thing that connects these systems and allows the engine to still run. Thanks for the video it helps.

Check out the images (below). Please upload an image or short videos in your response of the problem when you find it. Disconnect the battery before you begin. The BCM is under the dash on the passengers side.

Okay, so basically it has to be the BCM because nothing else is connecting the two? Someone mentioned replacing the battery and alternator first to see if it fixes the problem, do you think that would do anything?

And it looks like a BCM unit is around $400 from a parts store, and around $100 from eBay. Just want to make sure I am looking at the right thing online.

No, I would do a CAN scan to confirm the BCM failure which a trouble code, yes i would check the battery by removing it to have the auto parts store test it. Also, while the engine is running you can see if the alternator is overcharging., this guide can help.
