Electrical short

battery drain, when i disconnect the positive cable the one held with the brass nut going to the fuse box in the engine compartment the drain to the battery will stop. also every time i connect the cable i get sparks until i tighten the nut.

This definitely sounds like have a Parasitic Draw issue going on here. In the diagrams down below I have included a guide for you that explains how to track down the circuit that is causing parasitic draw along with the fuse box diagrams and callouts for your vehicle.
