Hello,

It sounds like the front interface control module is out. We should check the fuses first and run a CAN scan. here are two guides to help us fix the problem with diagrams below to show you how to replace the module if bad:

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Here are the hybrid fuse panel, you can get a CAN scanner from Amazon for about $34.00:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007XE8C74/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=2carprcom-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B007XE8C74&linkId=dc5e47e62fd1fb60fcb987399eb9edd0

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is. Test with the key on make sure power is on both sides of the fuse.

Hello Ken! Thanks for helping me with my Mkz hybrid 2014 problem! I've ordered a AL319 can scan should receive by Thursday, meanwhile you said it could be the front interface module that is out! Hope this is not what they call APIM? Because I was at Ford dealer on Friday to have that checked and they Updated the APIM and said the problem is somewhere else. If I take the letters of front interface module it should be something else. I'll get back with my AL319 in a few days. Thanks again!

Hi Jean-Guy

I don't think APIM is the same as the FIM. The scanner will tell us what is going on. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response. Please let us know what you find.

Thanks for the video. It does look like the front interface control module is out but to be sure lets wait until you get the CAN reader to confirm the issue. Let me know what happens.

The CAN reader (computer area network) will go through all modules and report back on any malfunctions. They are easy to use.

That is where I am having trouble to understand. You mean I need to plug the AL319 into a computer? Because only the AL319 wont be able to tell me witch module is out?

The AL319 will be able to tell you if you have any faults in the computer system. Let me know after you have read the CAN status.

Alright Ken thanks for the help! I guess my best bet will be to take my car to a dealer and leave it there a few days until they find the problem! Cause al319 doesn't help me the way I was expecting. After a few tried never really got an answer. Thanks again guys for your support. I'll get that fix somewhere and get it over with!
