I recently purchased my vehicle listed above and I'm having issues. The daytime running lamps and fog lights don't work. The interior dome lights don't come on when opening the doors, but they do work manually as long as the key is in the on position. Some functions in the cluster don't work. Also, I found a loose connection to the cluster plug and resoldered the joints and found my message center unplugged from the board. After reconnecting it my security light stays on and the brake light keeps coming on and off while driving. I also bought 2 key remotes for the door locks but can't get the module in program mode to program the fobs. Have checked the bulbs and fuses and all are good. I already replaced the BCM, and it didn't fix any of my problems. Help, I'm at a loss and I really do not like dealing with electrical problems. Thanks in advance and any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

You were correct replacing the BCM which run all of these systems. I would run a CAN scan to see what codes are stored. Also, I would see if the BCM is getting power and a good ground. This guide can help, and I have included the BCM wiring diagrams below so you can see which wires to test for power and ground.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-a-test-light-circuit-tester

If the power and ground is good here is how to do a CAN scan. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

https://youtu.be/u-4syLc-ifQ

Run the power test with the key on. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you, Ken, for the information. I will check the power and grounds for sure. Which can scanner do you recommend from amazon? Will post findings after I get a can scanner and test the power and grounds.

There are so many with new ones popping up every day. I would go for the one that has the most positive reviews. This one looks good though, it does more than just engine codes which is nice to have.

Let us know how it goes :)

Ken. I was able to get the scan tool and it arrived today. I scanned it and have several codes. I'll list them below for you.
U1000
U1064
U1300
U1096
U1041

I still haven't been able to check the powers and grounds as of yet because of the storm that came through Georgia last week. Thanks for your help

Here are the code definitions.

U1000 - Class 2 Communication Malfunction:
U1064 - Loss of Communication with Body Control Module (BCM):
U1300 - Class 2 Data Link Short to Ground:
U1096 - Loss of Communication with Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC):
U1041 - Loss of Communication with Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM):

It seems like the BCM is bad, but can I ask if the wiring has been tampered with? Here is a guide to help test the wiring for the BCM as well:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Please go over this guide and get back to us.

It doesn't appear that any of the wiring has been messed with, however, the map lights in the front overhead has a wire ran from the fuse block under the steering wheel up to them that is hooked into the orange wire. It's hooked to switch powering the fuse block so the interior lights will only work when the switch is on. Will do some wire testing and see what I can come up with. Thanks again.

Ken, I was able to do a little testing Sunday and here is how I did it and what I found. I found a video that showed them unhooking the negative battery cable and hooking a test light from the cable to the battery and if the test light was dim, it had a draw on it. My test light was lit dim. It then said to pull one fuse at a time from the fuse box under the hood and if the light went out or got brighter then that was the draw. When I got to the amplifier fuse and pulled it the test light went to flickering. I reinstalled it and then pulled the radio fuse and the test light got brighter. I then unhooked the radio and the light went off. I'm assuming the radio was the draw, but I am not sure. If the car sits like on the weekends the battery will drain and it wont start. I rechecked the codes and I don't remember seeing the short to ground code present. I then went into the body and checked codes and there were 3 codes present b0029 passenger side deployment loop open, u1000 loss of serial communications for class 2 and u1064 loss of body control module (BCM)/ dash integration module (dim)/sbm communications. The weird thing that threw me for a loop was I could cycle the key and both U codes would go away. Cycle the key again and go back in to read the codes and both U codes would reappear. I cleared them out and restarted the vehicle and codes would reset immediately. Another thing that keeps throwing me off is when I go into the body section of my scan tool the only module that shows up is the supplemental inflatable restraint. Should it not show all of the modules? Thanks for your help and I can't wait to hear back from you on this.

Another thing I just thought of Ken. When I bought and received my programmed BCM I didn't remove the negative battery cable before I removed the old one and replaced it with the new one. Would that possibly caused damage to the new BCM and the reason the problems are still present?

Yes, the battery needs to be disconnected when connecting the BCM or it can get damaged unfortunately. Has the wiring been tampered with? It does sound like the radio has causing the draw, can I ask if it has a CD player? If so, I have seen CD's get struck and cause this problem.

Haven't seen where any wires were tampered with.
Yes, it does have a CD player in it.
What about the modules showing up on the scan tool? I'm attaching a picture of it for you.

Ken,

Does this model have a dash integration module and if so where is it located? When I bought the tahoe the blower motor was real noisy. I removed ot and found something had been in there making a nest. I was just wondering if that is where the dim module is around the glove box and maybe there might be some chewed wires. Thanks again for all your help.

It looks like you may have found the problem, mice like to eat the wiring. You may need to remove the dash and do a main wiring harness inspection.

Ken, I have searched high and low as to where the dash integration module is located, and I can't seem to find anything on it. Could you please tell me where it is located? Thanks again for the help so far.

Ken, I got some news on what I was able to find this evening. I tested battery voltage at the dlc and it was good.I then moved to the bcm and removed the brown plug and tested the power and ground at the bcm and it had no power. I removed the cover for the underhood electrical box and low and behold I found a orange wire broken, chewed, etc. I had to add a price of wire because they were to short like a piece was missing. Now my auto headlights are working, daytime running lamps working, key in switch chime working, bright light indicator in cluster, and a few other things. I still don't have overhead lights when the doors are opened or when you turn them on and fog lights are still inop. Sorry for the long reply. Just wanted to give you a heads up on what I've found so far. Thanks again for the help. I'll update as I'm able to test other things out.

Good find! Yep, go over the wiring and do repairs as needed for the mouse chewing. Those little rascals. We were talking BCM then it went to "dash integration module" so we try to keep these thing separated. In these problems, I have had to remove the harnesses for inspection to find all the places that got eaten.
