At first my mass air flow wasn’t working. I have an onboard edge monitor and it’s not showing any reading from the mass air flow sensor. I have a Matko Maxlite it also shows no reading from the mass air flow.
It also shows no ECM equipped on the obd2

Hi,

Are you able to get the scanner to power on? As far as the ECM and the MAF are concerned, I need you to check a couple of fuses. (see pic below).

The fuses are in the under-hood fuse box. The ECM battery fuse (fuse 11) and the engine fuse (fuses 3, 12, 17, 53). When you check them, note that fuse 11 should have power at all times. Check both sides of the fuse for power. Fuses 3, 12, 17 only get power when the powertrain relay is actuated. Fuse 53 gets it with the key on.

I hope that made sense. LOL Check those and let me know what you find. Also, here is a link explaining what I mean by checking power at the fuses:

Take care,

Joe

I suspect you meant it still says ECM not equipped. At this point, we need to assume the ECM has failed. However, that isn't a cheap part to replace.

By chance, could you get your hands on a used ECM just so we could see if the "not equipped" indicator goes away?

Let me know that. Also, I'm going to ask the site owner if he has any suggestions.

Take care,

Joe

So, I see you are using an onboard edge monitor, can I ask if you connect a regular code reader are there any codes?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

You may had a bad edge monitor or it is not connected correctly. Also is there a check engine light on? If the MAF sensor has not working you will have codes.

Yes, I am using an edge monitor, but I also have a Matco Maxlite that also reads VIN and all the other modules except the ECM and Glow plug module. It says they are not equipped and now not only does the ignition not spin it over it doesn’t turn cluster on. I’ve replaced the fuse block under hood and I’m going to try another ECM, so I’ll update when I do that.

Yep, I agree with Joe, it sounds like the PCM has gone out, you can remove it and send it in for testing which will confirm the issue. You checked the fuses and grounds, correct? Did this truck have any major work done lately? If the PCM is bad they can rebuild it and send it back to you. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
