Wires from the cigarette lighter going into the engine melted causing the battery to lose power. Also the truck turns on but it won't stay on. Is there a relay or switch or fuse it could be burned out to cause this issue? Thanks

We need to try and scan for codes. There could be a number of reasons for this but just a burned wire for the lighter would not cause the engine to stall. However, other burned wires would cause something like this so we need to start with this.

Once we know what codes are there then we can get a better course of action. If you are not able to read codes, then you need to check the cigar fuse shown below. This is the fuse for the DLC as well.

Let's start with this and go from there. Thanks

I have seen this before. The fuse inside the fuse panel melts together causing an electrical short. Can you please inspect the fuse and has the issue been corrected and now the engine will not idle? There is a RAP1 fuse we need to check for power. this guide can help us with the fuse location in the diagrams below:

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Dear Sir:

Thank you for your quick response to my question yesterday, and for your service to our Country.

Is the ECM B fuse located in the fuse relay center, under the hood? Is it a yellow 50 amp?
