Replaced battery. Alternator is good. Car runs and starts good shut off cranks but hard to start. It will start if you leave it sit for awhile. Bought a cheap tester that you hook up to battery and the other end to check fuses. Dome light connection is bad somewhere.
But I can't find a diagram of the wires. Could you help? Thank you. It is a pickup not a 180sx sorry.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

I will use a schematic for a hard body truck. I'm not sure why the dome light is causing a hard start unless it is draining the battery. Regardless, there are two pictures below. I overlapped them so they can be followed. It is the entire interior lighting system.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe

Thanks, we will go through it to see if there is a short. A guy at AutoZone put a thing on our new battery and to check the alternator. It said there was a short somewhere and the only short we found was by checking the fuses with the volt meter and it was the dome one and it is draining the battery.

Welcome back:

Try this. See if you pull that fuse if the draw stops. Here is a link that shows how to find a battery draw:

Let me know if I can help.

Thanks. Husband totally took out inside dome light and all pertaining to it. Ran the truck all day off and on and it has started up like a champ. Seems like that took care of the problem.
