driver's side power window not working

Hi, I need some advice. My driver's side power window no longer works. there is no motor noise, or track slipping sound happening either. The switch had buttons for all four windows, the other three work just fine, and normal.

That sounds like my switch is broken, or, electrical problems right?

Any other advice? I am in Vermont and it has been a high of twenty two degrees this week, dang cold with the window stuck down!

This is another case of the insane engineers adding an unnecessary, complicated, and unreliable computer to a circuit where it never used to be needed. Moisture and vibration are two of the deadly enemies of electronics, so failures are not unexpected. In this case there is a computer module built into the driver's window switch assembly, and another one built into the driver's window motor. Neither of those computers are involved with the passenger windows.

There is no fast or easy way to determine which part has failed. Normally we do not approve of replacing random parts as a diagnostic procedure, but this is one case where your best approach is likely to be to get a good used switch assembly from a salvage yard. Plug that in and try it. If the problem is solved, you will not have to remove the door panel or do any testing.

Thanks, I figured this was going to be the exact suggestion. Found the door switch fairly cheap online. That is where I will start!
