Egr valve

Just replaced the egr valve with new
Should check engine light go off or does it need to be cleared

Hi,

I'm not sure what the code was, but it should eventually go off if the problem has been resolved. The vehicle (EGR System) will need to complete a predesignated drive cycle that can take several miles and start cycles to complete.

You can also clear the code. If the problem still exists, the light will return. Here is a link that explains how to turn it off:
