Does the vehicle listed above w vin have an EGR vacuum solenoid and if so, where is the location? P1404 code came up I have replaced the EGR valve with a new one I disconnected battery still comes up. I unplugged the EGR valve erased code, turned off key plugged back in still same problem, so I was curious if there was secondary EGR vacuum solenoid. Pictured below is EGR vacuum solenoid AutoZone sold to me.

Hi,

I looked through two different professional manuals, and neither shows one for this vehicle. I checked VIN W and VIN X for the 4.3L and I even checked for a 2.2L 4-cylinder and nothing is listed.

Do you have the part number for what they sold you? If you do, could you let me know what it is?

Also, I attached a pic below. That is what you should have.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

That's interesting. I'm not sure why the pump/connector would cause this. The code is specific to the EGR valve pintel not fully closing when commanded to do so.

Do me a favor. Take a look at the pics below. They are the diagnostics specific to the code you have. Also, pic 1 is the wiring schematic. Let me know if you are comfortable performing the tests.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

The sound would come from the tube if it has a leak, but I don't feel it would set this code. The code indicates the EGR valve is remaining partially open when it is commanded closed.
