I noticed a few times while driving when I would hit the brakes, my RPMs would drop to 0 and car would go in a 'stall" meaning the ignition is still on and in drive, but I would then have to shift into park, turn off the vehicle and start again. I would also notice a rough idle at times with the RPM when I would first start the car, when parked and driving.

I also began to notice when I would go to the gas station for fuel, when I would open the tank cover before turning off, it has a rough idle/drag to turn off. Once I'm done getting the fuel and go to start it would be a drag/rough start. I have even noticed a change in my fuel efficiency and performance.

I had my car scanned and received the codes 'P0178-00 Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Low Frequency' & 'P2119-00 Throttle Closed Position Performance'. The throttle body was cleaned, so the stalling has stopped but still getting the codes and also having the other symptoms. Do these have to be replaced?

Once the P2119 code has shown up I would replace the throttle body, cleaning it helps but there is an electrical error. I would replace the throttle body and then clear the codes, and the fuel consumption sensor problem might go away, if not be start a new thread for the P0178 code.

P2119 - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Throttle Body Range/Performance

P0178 - Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Low Input

Here is the correct way to replace the throttle body. Clear the codes once completed. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Okay, thank you I will replace the throttle body and clear codes and get back to you once it's completed. Just for clarification, if the fuel composition sensor code still shows, what were you meaning by 'be start a new thread for the P0178 code.'

Yes, if you replace the throttle body but the P0178 code is still there without the P2119 code please start a new thread because these will be separate problems.

I replaced the throttle body and no more P2119 code appeared. But I'm still getting the P0178 code - Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Low Frequency. What do you recommend moving forward to resolve this?

Did you clear the cods and drive it? If so lets start a new thread for the P0178 code.
