I have a 93 Eagle Talon 2.0 DOHC that has lost oil pressure. When running at normal speed, the oil pressure does go up, but not to normal levels. When idling, there is no oil pressure at all. At idle, it also sounds like a ticking noise under the hood but goes away when driving at normal speeds or revving up the engine. I've been told it's probably the oil pump, but have also been told the oil pump rarely, if ever, goes out. I've run cleaners through the engine and have had no luck.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to rule out the oil pump and engine bearings
