When I cold crank and drive it will go for a few miles before the check engine, battery, and oil lights come on it will die. I have to wait a few minutes until it will crank again.

Check battery for condition including load test and check charging at same time most places do for free including auto parts.

It has a new battery, but I did suspect possibly needing new terminal. I do not know if it is relevant, but the car also idles up and down.

So funny thing, I cannot crank the car because I am replacing the oil pan currently, but I went to clean the carburetor and there was a piece of cardboard someone put in there, what the heck?

Hey Jordan,

I have seen where the distributors in these engine go bad, can you remove the cap to see if there is any rust powder inside of it? This is a sign its going bad.

Best, Ken
