I replaced my right front wheel bearing and a few days later the rotor dust shield was suddenly rattling around all crazy. It got a little bent out of place when doing the initial task and have tried bending back into shape, but the shape itself is not the issue, it's that it is literally loose, and I am not sure what I can do to fix it. Hoping I don't have to remove the whole wheel bearing and hub assembly in order to get it to stop rattling so damn loud! Any advice?

Hi,

If the dust cover is loose, you will need to remove the brakes and brake rotor to access the two bolts that secure it to the steering knuckle. See pic below.

If you did tighten them originally, then I would suggest getting high temperature Loctite and use it on the threads. That will help prevent them from coming loose again.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
