I hooked up my scan tool and it gave a code U1000, trying figure why all of a sudden, this code came up. Had problems with the car would start an run for 2-5 mins. then stall. also, in the live data there was misfire on #2 and #4 cylinders. Would this cause the U1000 code.

U1000 is a code that means that another module that the PCM expects to connect to isn't connecting. So, say the PCM expects to connect to the body module and the dash and the radio normally, this code would set if the PCM only sees the body module and the dash, but not the radio. You need to know which modules your vehicle has and use a scan tool that shows the network topology, and which modules don't show up. No this won't cause a misfire normally because it's usually one of the other modules. Like the radio or OnStar or similar. But testing and the options sheet would help you track it down.
