Hi, I'm currently trying to replace the drum cylinders after they failed on me while driving. The problem I'm having is getting the two very tiny bolts out that hold the cylinders in place. Now, I'm no mechanic. So please be kind when I say I don't know what type of bolt it is. The closet tool I have that fits is a 1/4 wrench. Size fits perfectly but it's the wrong tool. The head of the bolt has a similar resemblance to a torx bit security bit. All personal searches came back empty handed. So, if someone could tell me what specific tools I need for this job I would appreciate your time and effort.

Hi,

The bolts holding the wheel cylinder on should be bigger than 1/4". I believe they are 10mm. Try that size. On the other hand, if you are referring to the bleeder, it may be the 1/4".

Do me a favor. I attached the directions below specific to this vehicle for the replacement of the wheel cylinder. The number 1 bolt is the bleeder and number 2 is the mounting bolts. Let me know if that is what you are referring to.

Take care and let me know if you have questions or what I can do to help.

Joe

Number 2 is the one I needed. But I managed to find a 9/32 stub socket that fits perfectly. Now, I just have to go buy a wrench in 9/32. Thank you for your reply!
