Was driving about 20 to 2 5mph when all the sudden the car literally quit taking power to the wheels and motor just seem to want to rev up and not move while in Drive. So I tried second gear and same thing there , no luck.
I tried first gear and boom the car will act as if it's normal. It accepts the torque to the wheels and and takes off,but only way for me to continue going forward is upon a complete stop/start position I have to start in first gear until 15 mph and then manually shift to second until 20 to 25 mph or from first to Drive.
The car seems as if it goes (I feel and hear it drop) into all gears although it just doesn't move fwd in D or second gear.
Park, Rev, Neutral, and first are all fine. No D or second gear from stop. Don't make sense to me!
I appreciate all the help any one has to offer. All Information is greatly appreciated and Thank you from W.V.

Good morning,

This could be a valve body issue in the controls for gear engagement but needs to be confirmed.

Is the check engine light on? If it is, do you have the codes?

How long since you changed the fluid and filter in the transmission?

No the check engine light is not on. No codes have been thrown, and no lights at all have came on. I've probably put any from 500 - 800 miles on trans since problem accrued. Trans fluid was changed bout 25,000 miles ago.

I would start there and change the fluid and filter. Beyond that, it is an internal issue. It could be the valve body or something else.
