I live in Minnesota. The weather got really cold last night. My door latch was stuck this morning so I watched your video and corrected the driver side door latch mechanism with a screwdriver. However, now that door does not seem to close all the way like it used to. I’m not sure if this is something I can fix or I should bring in somewhere. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I am a young woman with no car experience.

Hello, I'm Danny.

I've attached a picture below of a latch hoping this is what you spoke of making an adjustment. Get back to us when you can and we'll help. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hi Danny. Thank you so much for replying. Yes, that is the exact area that I am referring to. I think that when I tried closing the door (pretty hard a couple times) prior to realizing the mechanism needed to be adjusted with a screwdriver, I might have bent or done something. When closed now, the door is slightly ajar. It’s latched so it can’t be pushed open, but it is most definitely not closed all the way.

Hello again.

Yes, it's possible something might have bent. As you can tell having those three bolts there keeps it securely in place so it's not adjustable. After open and closing door a million times they tend to wear out. You could find a used one at a local auto dismantler/wrecking yard or try your local auto parts stores. Worst case would be going to the Lincoln dealer and paying a little more. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
