I broke the bleeder stem on my driver side front caliper and. I was going to just replace the caliper but then I second questioned myself. On AutoZone the caliper that fits my truck in the specification says that the “Mounting Bracket isn’t included.” Does this mean the caliper bracket or if I buy it does it come with caliper and caliper bracket.

Hi,

In most cases, the caliper bracket/mount is not included. However, there are the ones that come with it.

If you only broke the bleeder, that shouldn't affect the mount. Did something happen to it as well?

Let me know. Also, here is a link you may find helpful:

Let me know what I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe

The only issue is the bleeder. I removed the 17mm bolts that hold the caliper and I have the entire caliper itself off. I must be confused as to what is the caliper bracket. There are still 4 bolts in place, if I remove these will it separate the caliper from the caliper bracket? Sorry I don’t really know anything and am learning through trial and error. Thanks

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. If you removed the two 17mm bolts (see pic below) that is all you need on this vehicle. On many vehicles, there is a separate bracket. I believe on this vehicle; it bolts to the spindle.

I attached a pic below and highlighted the two bolts to remove. Since you only damaged the bleeder, when purchasing the caliper, it should have everything you need.

Let me know if that helps.

Joe
