The driver's door is stuck closed?

I believe it's locked, will not unlock. Using the key in the door does nothing, the automatic lock can be heard running, but the door does not unlock or open. Neither door handle will open the door. Neither door handle is broken and appears to have good connections to the door lock. I'm not sure if it's possible to remove the door panel to access the lock with the door closed. I've run out of ideas.

Yep, this is difficult, I have seen people remove the front seats to get to the door panel and remove it. It sounds like the latch is broken and will need to be opened manually. Here is how to remove the door panel and latch. Check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes.
