driver side door will not unlock

my driver side door locked up and wont open period no matter what. it happened after my six year old kept pulling on the outside handle while it was locked manually. please help!

More than likely this is a failed lock actuator. Here are a couple guides that will help with instructions on how to test and replace this:

Below is the testing that you will need in order to find out if the actuator has failed and if you need to replace it.
