Start pickup, put in gear and chime goes off and "driver door ajar" pops up. Once in a while when i hit the brakes it will do the same thing. Other times just driving down the road it will wig out and go on and off several times right in a row. Chime on and off. Doors lock and unlock. Driver door ajar pops up. Sometimes i can go for several days without any issues. Bought brand new $300.00 latch assembly but did not solve problem. Took door panel off and unplugged all three wires, started pickup, put in gear and still had driver door ajar. What the heck is wrong? From what i have seen on internet is possibly the Body Control Module. But i want to be sure. From what i have been told, they can only be programmed at a dealership. So probably not cheap. Thanks.

More than likely you have a broken wire in the flex area of the harness between the door and the A-pillar of the truck, very common. To find it you need to remove the kick panel trim, the door panel and push the accordion shield out of the door so you can access the harness. Then look and feel each wire looking for broken wires, they will break inside the insulation.
