A local auto shop replaced a universal joint on the rear drive train of my truck listed above 2500, 4WD, automatic extended, cab 6.0 with 96-inch bed. Within thirty miles from the shop the center bearing for the rear drive shaft failed. When I removed the drive shaft I noticed one of the mounts for the universal was cracked and open about 1/32". The part with the crack is the slip yoke, not the one that connects to the transfer case but the one that connects to the second rear drive shaft and would have the slip yoke boot covering it. Both my rear shafts are in good condition, it's the yoke that connects the two rear drive shafts that is cracked. Where can I purchase this yoke? I can only find it as part of the rear drive shaft assembly which is expensive. Also, is it the same slip yoke that fits into the transfer case?

Please take a look at the picture below and let me know if this is what you are looking at?

Basically, it is the slip yoke in the center of the driveshaft just behind the center support bearing.

I doubt you need it, but others may so here is a guide that will help with removing the drive shaft:

Also, take a look at this link. It appears these are correct, but we don't have an OEM part number for this slip yoke because they offer the complete drive shaft.

See the info below on this just to be sure we are on the same page.

Thanks
