Drive shaft

Does the drive shaft have to do something which a transmission? Sorry my car has a automatic transmission I don't know why I cannot change it thanks.

Hi,

The drive shaft is not part of the transmission it just connects to the transmission. It is the link between the transmission and the rear end. The transmission spins the driveshaft and the driveshaft spins the rear end that transfers the turning to the rear wheels.

I am not sure why you are not able to change it. They are made to remove and replace by themselves. Is there a reason that someone said you cannot?
