When I put my vehicle in drive I have no power to the front wheels. I can engage 4x4 and my rear wheels will work and if I put it in low gear everything works fine. what could be the problem?

Welcome to 2CarPros. Your description sounds like the front differential or one of the front axles has failed. That Jeep uses front wheel drive normally. When you select 4X4 it engages the rear axle, 4X4 low is actually the same thing except it sets the CVT into a "lower" gear to simulate a low range in the transfer case. The rear PTU is driven off the same gearing as the front so it is either the differential or an axle issue.
