I knew the car had a bad rotor, but i have been driving it for weeks. today on my way to work suddenly it sounded like something was dragging on ground behind tire was also making a really loud knocking or thumping type noise. if i get over 15 to 20 mph it feels like its jerking to right. I was told the axle and CV joints are new , so i have no idea. I looked under car but nothing was dragging. Please help as this is my only transportation until i can get another car at tax time.

It also feels like wheel isn't turning although i assume it is because i had to drive almost a mile to get into a parking lot. In the weeks leading up to today, it would always make a grinding noise. i assumed it was because of the rotor, also sometimes it would make a popping noise if i was turning.

Well from the description it sounds like you had a rotor that failed and locked up the tire. If the road was damp it could easily have been drug along without making any noise. The only way to know for sure is to take that tire off and see what the damage is. Based on the description I would guess that you will need brake rotors, pads, possibly a caliper and likely a replacement tire. However it would all depend on what failed. As for the popping sound while turning, that is commonly a bad CV joint but it could have been a cracked rotor.

Thank you so much for your help. i m going to try to get it looked at this weekend. Is it safe to drive the car back to my house or should i get it towed? Any idea how much parts for all that will cost?

I would have it towed because driving it could do more damage. Parts prices vary a lot, however it also depends on what's needed and what grade of part you opt for. As an example rockauto.com shows a front brake kit with rotors, pads and calipers for about $150.00 plus shipping. Local parts store has a similar kit that is closer to $300.00. Say you needed a wheel bearing for it, those are from $15.00 - $45.00.

Would turning the wheel deep when i leave for work in the mornings have caused any of this? I had been asking my boy friend for weeks almost daily that the rotor is sounding really bad and making a bad noise but he never looked at it and still hasn't. but says it's all my fault the car broke down because i turn the wheel deep. just curious if this would have caused any of the issues.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Turning the wheel shouldn't make any difference, it's designed to be turned that far without causing damage. I would take it to a shop ASAP and have it checked over, they can give you a better idea of the problems your car has because they can see it up close.
